The Behaviorist

The premise of The Behaviorist is a simple one, to provide information and resources in one place for people with an interest in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS).  The site is intended for anyone working in the field, especially those who are "learning by doing"; most of the information and documents in this site came from many late hours of reading, researching, and designing while I was "learning by doing" (I still am, as every day brings with it its own unique challenges and opportunities to discover new approaches). The primary reason for making this site is to help people who are just starting out to learn the fundamental theories and practices of PBS and ABA; I myself am still relatively new to the field, only doing behavior work for the last three years, so I make no assertion of being an “expert” and because of this I present this information to the best of my ability; I encourage people to compare the information on this site to other resources, i.e. other websites, books, etc.

I myself have worked with both children and adults, although all of my clinical behavioral work has been with adults with intellectual, developmental, and/or acquired disabilities; it does not matter with whom you work with as the fundamentals of ABA and PBS are the same; slight differences in regards to approach and regulations do exist and must be taken into account on an individual basis, but I have tried to keep the information in this site as general as possible.

In keeping with the spirit of many of the pioneering minds of the field, everything on this site is free for use and available as a download. The documents contained within the site were formatted by myself from the works of others that are available free to use and modify for individual needs. For this I am grateful to these people. It is encouraged that users of this site do the same.  Enjoy!
